Pros

Great new direction and a leadership team (Board) that truly wants to make the company successful. You can believe the moaners on Glassdoor if you want, but they’ve left (or are thinking of leaving) for a reason: they’re pessimists looking for the newish MD and the board to fail. Not sure why those wanting to stick around are looking for the company to fail, but while they remain, rather than sodding off elsewhere, there’s a good chance of it happening. Recent changes to the org (landing on Jan 1) is aiming to set it up for profitable success in 2018 so there’s a decent chance of a bonus in 2019, albeit likely to be non-existent in 2018, but time will tell if the workers have the appetite and patience to make it happen.

Cons

The moaners who sit in Guildford and Gloucester - the vocal engineers who hide behind anonymity and bemoan the way things used to be when they joined Detica in the early 2000s and how BAE’s takeover was the worst thing ever, blah blah, moan moan. Change the record and bore off elsewhere. Their rose-tinted arrogance and pessimism is depressing to others, it creates a toxic atmosphere (if they left, the toxins would also leave, giving way to hope for those who truly want to be there) and despite some of their undeniable competence and experience, they’re ironically the thorn in the side of AI being a commercial success. Rather than striving to be the solution, they’re hell-bent on being the problem - and are waiting to jump on the first sign of failure or shortcoming of the new structure/ways of working with a smug “told you so” retort. If they applied their own intelligence, garnered from multiple, enviable and advanced academic qualifications, AI would be THE market leader, rather than a stuck-in-yesteryear company struggling to return to profit.
