Pros

BAE Systems name on my CV - as everyone associates it to the successful parent company of Applied Intelligence

Cons

Employees are treated as resources. Filling empty roles is more important that employees desired career path. Resourcing team 'ops' is a joke. Have not had a chance to do the role I applied for. Senior Management have no clue as to how unhappy grads are. There is no opportunity for progression. Promotion works on a one in and one out basis - no matter how exceptionally you perform. Retention rates are poor - a whole account is on the verge of collapse Salaries are well below the market rate CEO is ignorant and refuses to accept the problems, and dodges any questions

Pros

* BAE Systems is a well-known name & brand. * Great people (although many have recently left)

Cons

* 'Ops' (internal resourcing) will misrepresent roles and in some case just lie about them, on the understanding that "we all have to muck in and do our part" and with the promise of early rotation into a more favourable position. As soon as the role is filled this rotation ceases to be possible. * People are seen as a resource to fill roles; little attention is given to an individual's interests or skills - e.g. software developers are given business consultant or PMO roles and vice versa. * Salary & bonus far below market rate for developers (little experience in other business units so cannot comment on these). * Senior management regard technical staff as expendable and "replaceable", with suggestions to combat high attrition rates as either "not actually a problem" or suggesting that "if people wish to leave, then they should leave".

Pros

Good thing are flexible hour, work life balance, good benefit and talented people

Cons

- A lot of talented people leaving the company. - Office politics - Staff have less channel to raise their voice. - Management are applying favouritism in handling staff. - They are hiring so many people and at the same time they are letting go the talented staff. Less appreciation to the current staff. - Less fun because of the cutting budget from the social club. - Less training provided by the management. - Old fashion office environment.
