      Pros

      People "in the trenches", i.e., at the program level, are uniformly very good. Pay is good to very good. There are plenty of travel opportunities.

      Cons

      The company has focused on growth, and as a result integration has not kept pace. Internal processes are neither uniform nor well understood by employees. Leadership skills among many senior managers are lacking. Reorganizations are rampant, and people/organizations change titles/functions very frequently. The company does not communicate well, either internally or broadly externally.

      A decent work place with poor management.

      Pros

      Stability is relative of course but the contract has been held for about 50 years. The pay and benefits are satisfactory. We received small raises but other companies were giving nothing. The lower level management is pretty good at the balance between work and home life. Good work facilities.

      Cons

      The management reacts rather than directing the business. The management takes on work the customer wants that is out of our line of expertise. They keep jerks and layoff managers that have good relationships with employees.

      Was great until the fourth Reduction In Workforce

      Pros

      People are friendly and helpful. High standards for conduct and politeness. Lots of free lunches (lunches at every meeting). Important product.

      Cons

      Obsessed with safety (it gets a little ridiculous). So many layoffs in such a short time period is really bad for morale and makes it hard to concentrate on any work that may come your way. if you dont have work, management won't always give you more even if you ask for more, you have to figure something out on your own.
