      Inability to acquire new business

      Pros

      Interesting work, good pay, flex time. We were treated well when the company was doing well. Serious attention to our physical comfort, nice building, safety issues always taken seriously. Training, conferences, any books we needed.

      Cons

      Frequent layoffs over the past few years, myself included. Still too many top level people vs. actual engineers. It started to become a case of who you know vs. what you know. Management doesn't seem to know how to get new work and the company is dying.

      Pros

      People "in the trenches", i.e., at the program level, are uniformly very good. Pay is good to very good. There are plenty of travel opportunities.

      Cons

      The company has focused on growth, and as a result integration has not kept pace. Internal processes are neither uniform nor well understood by employees. Leadership skills among many senior managers are lacking. Reorganizations are rampant, and people/organizations change titles/functions very frequently. The company does not communicate well, either internally or broadly externally.

      Pros

      Good pay, flexible (but long) hours, pretty good physical plant, convenient location (for me), pension which has now been discontinued

      Cons

      Pension has been discontinured, chaotic, insane workload, long, long hours, cafeteria opened very limited hours and not for an evening meal, which would b enice because so many of us work into the late evening
