Pros

Benefits and Bonus are excellent. Plenty of training opportunities.

Cons

Acquired companies and their are many are not treated the same as direct employees of BASF. Some supervisors judge the work merits of an employee from somewhere other than the location the worker is working. BASF assumes that an acquired company already knows the BASF way of operation. Some employees are left to learn things on their own with very little or no support.

Pros

Company takes care of its employees. If you work hard, they work hard for you. The company is so large and diversified, that shifts in the markets don't trigger layoffs. There is constantly opportunity for development and advancement if you are open to moving from site to site. Very good insurance options and benefits.

Cons

Because it is so big and there is lots of talent, internal job opportunities have lots of competition. Company moves at a slow pace, nothing happens fast.
