Pros

Good pay and benefits. A lot of good people working there.

Cons

Culture is bad, starting from the top down. Management is more interested in presenting numbers instead of process improvement initiatives. So much time and resources are wasted presenting monthly data instead of detailing the steps needed to improve the underlying processes that effect the numbers and taking action on them.

Pros

Great pay and benefits, good work life / balance

Cons

Not a meritocracy and a lot of politics. Many people were successful due to being friends with the boss. Not enough checks and balances. Many managers had complete say on decisions that had huge impacts to the bottom line and were not held accountable for failure.

Pros

Great company, incredible benefits and salary. The current C-suite team are forward thinkers and better than the last executive team. Colleagues are great and one can avoid the bureaucracy for a long while building a career here. BHPB is truly a marketing company that happens to be in the mining/oil and gas industries and cares about its image and the areas it works.

Cons

Majority of middle management is disconnected and only prefer to manage above than below. The management group cover the full spectrum of either great or bad. Uncommitted or overbearing. I'd say professionalism is a strong trait, but only on the senior manager and above group. It's unlikely to join the management track in the next few years due to market issues. This is a place that says that they want superstars, but they really want automatons. BHPB is truly a marketing company that engages in mining/oil and gas industries and is willing to spend fortunes to make their presence known and sometimes without regard to financial prudence or awareness to market occurences.
