      Wonderful colleagues; senior management not so much

      Pros

      Talented people/colleagues, opportunity to work in fast-paced global environment, good benefits/very competitive salary, and the opportunity to learn a lot about diverse products and processes

      Cons

      Change for its own sake/no long-term building plan ever lasted more than 12 months. Expectations at the top were that new people (cycled in every year) would make immediate and positive differences, but there was never patience to grow solid foundations to set up change for success

      Pros

      - Leadership (especially in Performance and Availability R&D) is best of class. - Progressive technical talent specializing in SaaS and PaaS has been acquired. - BMC as a business is well run and efficient, and compares far better in this regard than other companies of a similar size.

      Cons

      - IT Security policy is antiquated, driven by customer policy, and inhibits remote work, especially for modern DevOps workflows that support R&D. - Tech culture for some groups is in need of an overhaul (don't let this deter you, WE NEED YOU, to help us change!) - BMC legal's position on IP and OpenSource is antiquated and severely inhibits the culture and marketing opportunities the movement presents (We are trying to change this, WE NEED YOUR HELP!)

      Great upbeat atmosphere, sales training, product line training. Encouraged to rise within the organization, competitive pay and pretty excellent benefits.

      Cons

      Few downsides identifiable, unless you are a real slacker! Commit to your work and the rewards continue to flow.
