Pros

Great pay and benefits. Lots of fun parties and conferences. Great people if you are lucky enough to find them.

Cons

Horrible transparency from management, lots of frivolous waste of money like the parties and conferences. They should use that money to actually make improvements to products

Pros

Reasonable work life balance. Can work from home. Flexible hours. Adoption of agile methodologies. Competitive compensation, though bonuses are partial due to company goals not achieved.

Cons

Stagnant and slow-paced organization. Lots of legacy stuff. Modern technologies are late to be adopted, if at all. Not the best place to be in if you think about your career future. Low retention, good people are the first to leave. Employees are the least important, with workforce reduction and no HR presence on site.

Pros

Some of the smartest and most motivated people I met worked at BMC. BMC is in a number of markets and you gain valuable experience working there.

Cons

Product investment was lacking for years and allow upstart competitors to disrupt BMC. Going private in 2013 meant losing access to employee stock purchase programs, and other performance bonuses were underpaid.
