      Getting a good manager is very hard in BMO; Working with all partners is a must if you want to get anywhere in the bank.

      Pros

      Revenue a month is the best if you are in the banker role of the bank. Working with customers is also the best part of the job and getting them in the right products.

      Cons

      Management is very hard to come by. If you can find a good group of employee your revenue will be easier to get.

      Pros

      Benefits start on the date of hire and are extensive. Company offers benefits to all employees who work at least 20 hours weekly.

      Cons

      Medical insurance is expensive. Lots of micromanagement from higher up. Not making goals is never because the goals are way too aggressive (according to management). It is always because employees aren't trying hard enough or because we aren't doing it the right way. The product package for customers is mediocre at best and does not entice them to be referred more products.

      Pros

      6% 401(k) Match. Nice desks and "right to natural light."

      Cons

      BMO Financial (Toronto) is sitting on a ton of cash and want to expand further into the mid-west. In turn they are taking a "smoke & mirrors" approach to their external reporting to please the US Regulators. US employees are treated as 2nd class citizens and burnout is very high. Don't be fooled... This is a Canadian Bank that allows Americans to work there until they migrate processes north.
