Pros

Management is friendly, supportive, and respectful. Great benefits. Most people are friendly and willing to help. Teamwork is a positive. Thats about it.

Cons

The job doesn't pay enough for someone with a college degree that graduated with honors. The pay is a disincentive to work hard. Also there isn't enough work to keep you busy anyway.

Pros

Was a good company to work for prior to the Mellon merger. Good benefits Nice people

Cons

You are expected to be available 24/7, with constant overtime due to poor project planning and ridiculous deadlines. Not a place to work if you plan on having a personal life. Besides which, there are never ending layoffs with the overall goal of closing down the NY and Boston locations. Good opportunities if you'd like to move to India.

Pros

Global reach and vast array of technologies, allows you to experience a whole range of situations, takes employee variety seriously, most people are good to work with, excellent benefits, more traditional than others (this is a good thing, since it wasn't affected much by the downturn). Overall, a good & stable place to work - some areas within the bank actually did quite well even in bad times.

Cons

Technology within the bank is currently in a dreadful state, to the point that it's almost working against the employees. There are layers upon layers of segregated technology departments, and trying to get a lot of things done or anything out of the ordinary done can be incredibly difficult. It also means that almost no-one takes any ownership of the issues that come up because they're not directly affected. Financial rewards have taken a slight turn for the worse recently given the actual profit figures. Despite the talk, training could be a lot better, at the moment employees have to push for it to happen.
