Awful coaching and upper management. Apply elsewhere.
Pros
- The other tax associates and seniors were supportive and wonderful to work with. - The admins in the San Jose office were lovely. - The firm is flexible in terms of being able to work from home or remotely.
Cons
- When you start at the firm, you're assigned a coach who is supposed to help "guide" you as you start. The coach I was assigned to in my office had ZERO soft skills and was awful to work with. Whenever I asked for their help, they would act as if I was bothering them or asking a stupid question. I had to learn how to do things on my own or by asking others. Rarely had my back and would constantly lecture me about their projects I worked on. - A lot of the upper management (specifically those in the Menlo Park office, and to a lesser extent, the San Jose office) are downright rude, unprofessional, and hard to work with. - The tax trainings provided were rushed through and not detailed. I still had to ask for assistance or refer to other materials. - Staff is expected to reach out for work but whenever we do, we often get ghosted. - Compensation is laughable compared to other accounting firms in the area. - Constantly felt like I was on edge during my final few months at the firm.
