      So much potential, yet dragged down by civil service, unionised lifers who don't have a clue how the real world works.

      Pros

      Work / Life balance is good. Autonomy of work.

      Cons

      There is still a civil service mentality within the business. Many people are 'lifers' and have no concept of the commercial reality of the outside world as they are protected by the unions. It is too easy for people to get "lost" within the organisation, to work for a long time on internal projects that deliver nothing. They are then moved to another "lost" role and become someone elses problem. Just like the Civil Service / Job-For-Life mentality. They should be fired.

      Pros

      good pay package and if you have the right manager there are many opportunities for career advancement. Good work is rewarded.

      Cons

      Despite all the diversity training and claims of supporting staff, if you get the wrong manager they can make your time at BT Wholesale tough. Rather than learn how to avoid negative situations some seem to have learnt how to bully and harrass people and often this behaviour is supported by senior management rather than reprimanded.

      Pros

      The sense of community- everyone helping each other, keeping each other informed, this extends to both staff members and managment.

      Cons

      Long, inflexible hours. The way that managment sometimes get involved in office gossip (This has occured on many occasion dince the start of my employment)
