Pros

very supportive company especailly for working mums for example i have worked for the company for over 10 years and i have been given lots of opportunitys to progress and learn more about other departments which i have been happy and honered to do, also visiting many sites doing various jobs even though i have now gone part time i still get offered other things all the time they do not take it that as i have a child now i cant do anything else, they are very supportive if i need anything and i will always go the extra mile for them as its like for like.

Cons

Pros

Job security although this is becoming a problem now as the company seems to be putting a lot of people into re deployment. The benefits you get for working for such a large organisation are also very good such as discounts on most hosehold expenditures.

Cons

No recognition for anything as you are just seen as number. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get promoted as jobs seem to not appear on the job sites and are filled internally by people who have worked for managers in other parts of the business and are then given promotions when these managers move. Seems to be a culture of jobs for the boys creeping into corporate.

Pros

Quite a good salary and good staff facilities.

Cons

Very strict regarding necessary time off, useless managing staff shifts and when they get it wrong will not admit or change it unless you have proof. BT ask for your opinion but do not take it, when introducing new systems BT do not take the time to make sure it will work and if staff are unsure BT do not offer much help. The bonus system just doesn't work, i would write down my sales every day but at the end of the month my bonus would not reflect this and when i would go to my manager with my bonus sheets nothing would be done.
