Pros

BT is a world of opportunity. I have been supported in doing five completely different jobs in just over 10 years. Have only worked in the UK, but want to work in one of the 169 other countries we operate in, which is absolutely possible. Flexible working is positively encouraged. The company has changed significantly over the past 6 years with Ben Verwayaan as CEO. People who join find it fast paced and challenging. There is an open and honest culture and a positive working atmosphere.

Cons

Its big! So you get things done by influencing others. Some people can't cope in that environment.

Cons

extreme work pressure on key individuals if you are good whilst large numbers of people turn up just to collect the pay cheque

Pros

- Open attitude: Lots of support from colleagues, upper management - freedom to innovate: Opportunities to create new business and develop things your way. Ownership of tasks is encouraged. - Training: Lots of training opportunities to develop technically - Free broadband - Company diversity: Plenty of scope to do what you want to do...

Cons

- Company diversity (the company doesn't know what it want's to be) - Lack of career progression: Seems to work on year's of service more than anything else... - Lots of 'dead wood': Some people just doing business as usual, no motivation - Poor pay increases: Reward framework rewards those at the bottom of their pay scale, but what about those who can't get a promotion... - Differences between departments.
