Pros

Global Brand if you are in that environment as it is recognized well in Europe. If the company's vision is executed correctly with the right people, then the upside potentials are huge.

Cons

Slow, poor execution of corporate strategy and lack of enough quality and qualified workers. The quality workers usually end up doing the job of the unqualified workers. Not enough workers that truly have what it takes to be working and leading an IT service company.

Pros

Holiday entitlement is good once you have been on the firm for a length of time.

Cons

Poor middle management, de moralised work force, constant re organisation and Uncertainty with regards to future prospects of employment. The long term future does not look bright for most employees with down sizing of the work force every year and to top this off BT are now to review our pension arrangements with most of the work force 20-30 years into the Pension agreement! Management of the work force can be at best described as incompetent with people's skills ignored and the use of inferior contractors across the country with no contract supervision because it has been deemed that these contractors do not need it. This has resulted in poor qaulity installations and at times dangerous working practice from unskilled individuals.

Pros

Being a large company, there is a good variety of work, and it's relatively easy to move around within the organisation. In my experience there is less pressure than in some other companies to do unpaid overtime, and reasonable job security (though less than there used to be).

Cons

Despite the efforts of senior management, there is still a lot of bureaucracy in parts of the company. There is also continuous pressure to reduce costs, which is often manifested as excessive outsourcing. Technical roles are becoming more and more scarce, with many technical people forced into micromanagement of offshore contracts.
