Pros

Good work environment, camaraderie between team members, fun loving atmosphere, laid back, good money during season, managers are understanding and flexible.

Cons

Loose organization and management at times, but management also tends to have their employees' backs, so it's forgivable.

Pros

Darden is a giant corporation and with that comes a plethora of benefits -- depending on how many hours you work a week, you can sign up for various health care options including dental and vision. They also have a portal that leads to benefits and deals on a lot of brands as long as you sign up through the company website.

Cons

Because Darden is such a huge company, the people doing the actual selling of the products (servers) are often treated like they aren't people. Honestly, that's how it is everywhere for servers. Darden no longer requires a gratuity on large parties (8 or more) and often the servers taking the parties get screwed over and end up owing money due to all the tip outs required. Specifically at this Bahama Breeze, the managers say that they "set us up for success" but continuously contradict themselves without batting an eyelash. They want us to greet a table within 30 seconds, but then tell the hosts to triple seat us so we don't go on a wait and so they don't get yelled at by their boss, but then yell at us whenever we don't divide ourselves into 3 separate people and greet everyone all at once, etc...Servers depend on getting tables to make money and the managers will keep everyone on the floor when it's not busy so no one ends up makes money. It's an okay part time job. Do not be full time. You can make money SOMETIMES only if the managers are in good moods and don't decide to take their anger and hatred our on their employees. Also, if you can deal with them only being concerned about their quarterly bonuses and not if you can pay your rent, then you'll do fine.
