Pros

I’ve written this feedback a handful of times before sharing on Glassdoor. My goal isn’t to be malicious, but instead provide an objective recounting of my own experience working on the sales floor at BambooHR. Let’s start with the positives. BambooHR has recruited some very talented AEs and managers alike. They have a strong culture and perks like their Paidpaid, $2k incentive to use on a vacation each year for all FT employees. For those starting in the SaaS space for the first time, you can learn a lot about the typical sales process, methodologies and basics for a good foundation. Most immediate leadership was supportive and never micromanaged (this dramatically varies based on which sales manager you report to, so there is somewhat of a gamble here).

Cons

Bamboo has a considerable number of downfalls that they should quickly examine or risk the hemorrhaging of more proven, top performers. To excel at Bamboo, expect to fit a very specific archetype. The politicking and glaring nepotism at BambooHR is rampant. This is outside of sales ability. For the most part, BambooHR leadership is very narrow-minded based on a certain set of characteristics and behaviors that they value above all else. They lack executive vision and often communicate changes in a clunky, unrefined approach causing ambiguity and frustration amongst AEs. Additionally, BambooHR grossly underpays their sales org. I took a pay cut to join Bamboo, with the intent of being able to quickly progress my career/role seniority and income potential. Instead, the organization over-hired and when they realized their mistake, in order to course-correct, they hatched new ways to either place a bulk of the reps on PIPs and even introduced a new comp plan for 2023 that DECREASED not only base salary but added a convoluted way to earn commission. While I will take some valuable insight from working at the company based on the relationships within my team and some sales skill building, it is not an opportunity that I would highly recommend to a peer. Perhaps in other departments there is a different story to be told, but my experience on the sales floor at BambooHR left me disenchanted, somewhat regretful and empathetic to the talented sales reps who still work at the organization, who deservedly should be led by better equipped leaders and most importantly accurately compensated for the skills they possess.

Pros

- Most people in leadership are gullible enough to easily manipulate & gaslight. - No work after hours - A couple benefits are alright but nothing worth losing your mind over - If you are mormon and white this is pretty much like working at FAANG you WILL be promoted and be treated highly.

Cons

- Micromanaging culture, monotonous work compared to other SaaS companies, new ideas are attacked and shut down. - Cult like atmosphere, absolutely terrifying, there are people here who would die for Bamboo - Sales Org is bottom tier, it favors unskilled reps who spam cold calls 5x in a row, metrics over numbers type of org. -Peanut pay -no diversity

Pros

BambooHR is a really good HR project/task tracking software. The OG employees were great but are gone pretty much now.

Cons

They are not HR professionals by any means! As a result, they have the most toxic and discriminatory culture of any company I have had the displeasure of working with. They lie and fire people without any credible cause. They are extremely left wing and seem to mimic CNN like it's their bible. Want proof? They will have their social media manager respond to my review and try to discredit it. Why would a good company need to hire someone to do that? A good company wouldn't
