Pros

Bancroft can be a very rewarding place to work. It is easy to establish meaningful relationships with staff and clients. They're supportive in furthering career and educational goals; they do this through actions as simple as encouragement and as impactful as tuition reimbursement. In this position I have a supportive manager this gives me the flexibility to make new curriculum, adapt on the fly and take chances.

Cons

Working with the population that Bancroft serves means having to understand the difficulties that will be faced day in and day out. For those who may not be entirely ready for that transition it can be overwhelming. The work can be stressful or dangerous at times and problems that clients face are not always solvable.

Cons

Not-for-profit organizations do not offer strong opportunities for salary increases, however working at a not-for-profit with a strong mission in which you believe serves as compensation... Bancroft's mission is a reason to work at this organization despite lack of opportunities for rapid growth within a job position.
