Great temporary job

Pros

This is a great job to work at if you are able to negotiate a good pay and want good work-life balance. If you enjoy talking to people all day and problem solving you’ll probably enjoy this. However, unhelpful coworkers or management can make training and learning really difficult.

Cons

Majority of the job’s aspects weren’t that great. Training was rushed and mostly just you shadowing your coworkers until they force you to just jump right into it. If you have zero prior banking experience this can be extremely overwhelming, especially if you don’t even know how to fill out a check. I wish there had been a proper training process, but also kinder coworkers. The customer service manager was the main person training me and she was just simply old and miserable most of the time. She would try to give me “busy work” when I would have free time after finishing all my work and no clients to help simply because she was busy and didn’t feel as though I had a right to go on my phone. But never nagged my other coworker or manager for doing so. She had an extreme case of an inferiority complex, and I believe it was due to the fact I am only 22 and was able to do a lot of work quicker and more efficiently than her. My manager had also promised me a raise as I got a promotion 2 months into the job with more work and responsibilities, but when I brought it up he told me that what the company was offering me was lower than what he hired me for… Basically the company just wanted to give me a “raise” AKA just giving me more work to do while minimum wage goes up in the area. Absolutely deceitful and disgusting having your coworkers take on more responsibilities and work but not giving them their rightful pay! It was two months after that I told him I was quitting and he was begging me pathetically to stay and that he had been “considering giving me a raise.” I was honestly embarrassed for him and still quit. If you’re in your 30s+ and miserable I highly recommend this job, otherwise you’re going to hate it!
