Pros

Exciting to be part of a growing business. No business is perfect and growth companies are not for everyone. Great leadership team that looks well into the future and paves a path to the future. The people in this business are truly amazing.

Cons

None to share. All companies in major growth mode go through growing pains. I'd prefer that to the alternative.

Pros

Supportive team, great growth opportunities, and leadership that genuinely listens.

Cons

Fast pace can mean juggling a lot at once, but it keeps things interesting.

Pros

Banyan's model — acquiring and growing dominant, niche vertical-market software businesses — gives operating company leaders real P&L ownership and autonomy that's rare in larger corporate structures. As a President, you're not just executing someone else's playbook; you're running your business. Access to a network of peer Presidents across the portfolio is genuinely valuable — shared playbooks on M&A integration, pricing, talent, and operations that most standalone SaaS companies don't have access to. Banyan has been Great Place to Work Certified across six regions, and their long-term buy-and-hold philosophy (versus a typical PE flip-and-exit timeline) tends to support more patient, sustainable decision-making rather than short-term financial engineering. Benefits and career development investment are frequently cited positively by employees — tuition/learning support, internal mobility, and a genuine effort toward mentorship.

Cons

Because Banyan operates a decentralized, multi-company model, communication and consistency can vary a lot company to company — what works well in one operating company's culture doesn't always translate cleanly to another, and integration pace after acquisitions can create friction. Compensation and equity structures tied to the holding-company model can be less straightforward to explain to employees than a single-company stock plan, which sometimes creates confusion or perceived inequity across the portfolio.
