probably the best place to do computational biology in Spain

Pros

Access to Marenostrum and other facilities. Social activities, private health insurance, 14 pays. This is enough to say that this research center is above average in Spain.

Cons

Limited career advancement opportunities. Overcrowded office. It used to be more international and it seems like they can't attract foreign talents. Probably a money issue (PhD salary is good but then...)?

Pros

You can have freedom to do things you are interested in, it is good if you are in the stage of life when family life matters more. People are in general nice to work with.

Cons

Salary scheme is not transparent. If you are a researcher it is difficult to figure out how to please your bosses to rise the salary or to give you permanent contract. HR department seems to be favored in that sense or they are just more aggressive when it comes to salary :)
