Lack of hours! No future to make a decent salary for years if ever.....due to the lack of hours you can get and the work contract new cashiers start at. Old contract cashier's make about twice as much. You're considered worthless, or a dime a dozen by the company. You pay the fines if you are set up by the ABC board for an illegal alcohol or tobacco or cold medicine sale. You get fired for 3 mistakes doing a WIC transaction. You get replaced if you're not "fast" enough. (you're always consider not adequate -but barely acceptable) mind games** There's a chart in the break room to show everyone who's checking groceries their speed and it's basically used to threat motivate you. Some management skills! Using a whip and a chair is the style here to motivate everyone.

There's so much more work that needs to be done then the payroll allows for. As the Department Manager you're the one who needs to make up the difference which often means working overtime, off the clock. The staff size is so small there's not enough body's to cover a vacation, so you'll end up working through them.
