      A once great company that's lost it's way.

      Pros

      Passion for the industry, opportunity to work with others that are passionate about the industry.

      Cons

      Micromanagement runs rampant at this company. The President and the founder/owner of the company make decisions down to the smallest detail making the processes slow, and limiting the company's ability to grow at a reasonable rate. The President of the company manages thru indimidation and rarely, if ever, gives employees a pat on the back when they've done well. There's a saying around the office that if he isn't yelling at you, you must be doing your job well.

      Pros

      Very relaxed environment, the associates are very friendly and everyone gets along with everyone else.

      Cons

      Some of the managers are very rude in how they handle things, thinking that they know all and can do no wrong even though some of them dont even know how to do their jobs. You dont get your work schedule until the day before.

      Pros

      Bass Pro offers an excellent work environment. Coming to work is great fun and the store promotes outdoor adventures not just for the customers but the employees to. Bass Pro offers an excellent discount on merchandise allowing to employees to particiapte in the recreational activites promoted by the corporation.

      Cons

      Bass Pro offers a low starting salary as compared to other "big box" retail outlets. Hiring procedures do not give credit for education. The upper management would prefer someone with experience, even if it is old or unuseful experience, versus someone who may be highly educated and otherwise qualified for the position.
