      Pros

      B+L allows individuals to accept as much responsibility as they can handle. Company is small enough that a single individual can make a large impact. Helping improve / restore sight is very gratifying.

      Cons

      Current ownership by private equity firm is focused on a liquidity event in the near future. May not be an ideal place for those looking for stability. Some business units better than others. Tendency is look outside the company when promotional opportunities arise.

      Pros

      Good pay, benefits and opportunity to learn.

      Cons

      The management in this location is just waiting to retire so they do not want to make any changes or improvements. They all want to coast for another 3-5 years and take a package when there is a next set of layoffs or site closure. Not doing the needed things to make the site competetive in the long term. who knows if this site will be open for long with the new management.

      Bausch & Lomb has a surgical division in St. Louis that deals with equipment manufacturing for cataract surgeries. Manufacturing is located on site in St. Louis.

      Cons

      Bausch & Lomb was formally a publicly traded company that transitioned to a privately owned company back in late 2008.
