      Pros

      Company had some good long-term employees. Many have left now with new management. The company has a lot of positive brand equity with consumers, which continues bringing in the sales.

      Cons

      Very financially oriented, no long-term focus on decisions. Management and owners focused on improving their personal wealth, not the good of the company or long-term job prospects of employees. HR/talent management practices atrocious: good work on behalf of the company is not rewarded.

      Pros

      The benefits are very competitive and I feel that the company is certainly focused on the employees, at least from a benefits and compensation perspective. The 401k match is great and the health and medical benefits are also very strong. New management has been very open and communicative to the employees, which is a nice thing to see.

      Cons

      There is no formal mentoring program, at least that I am aware of. This is crucial at any workplace, for developing employees who are poised for growth within the company. There have been numerous changes with the senior management team, and almost all of the new additions have come from outside of the company, which does not send a positive signal to the rank and file.

      Pros

      ability to balance work and personal life, local economy has historically been in decline so any job with a relatively stable company like B&L is a good job, 401k & benefits package are great, products and technology behind them is interesting, high level of diversity.

      Cons

      lack of business growth, limited opportunity outside of the firm - high level of firm specific knowledge, firm lags behind competition in some areas and lags behind
