Pros

Job stability is one pro of this company

Cons

Used to set the standard of pay in the industry. They do a market analysis of other health systems in the area, they do not consider the cost of living or inflation or the market of what you actually do. They will pay new team members with half the experience the same often more. more money. They own their the healthcare insurance and it's ridiculous bad and expensive for team members. So they make money off their own employees.

Baycare isn't what they promote themselves to be

Pros

Weekends offs, Monday through Friday schedule

Cons

First month of employment both providers and medical staff are rude and unwelcoming. They rush to train you, throw you onto the job and get mad when you don't know what you're doing. Not all holidays are off. Rush people in and out without quality care for the patients. Very toxic environment. Other medical assistants were fearful of their provider for silly reasons such as leaving the cap lock on the computer before she came in. It was an uncomfortable environment on day 1.

Pros

My teammates and management are all amazing. Everyone works together to get the job done and they are there if you need anything. The PTO balance is very generous.

Cons

The pay sucks. With how complex and technical this job is, we are extremely understaffed and underpaid. Healthcare is expensive and you have to go to BayCare approved places only. Protocol constantly changes. Literally every week we are expected to learn something new and apply it accordingly, which can be confusing for new hires. The training is too fast-paced. You're expected to learn how to do everything in under a week and they train more than one person at a time. Patients, family members, and medical staff can all be nasty over the phone. No one gets held accountable for how they treat us. Instead we are lectured on what we "should have done differently". I understand our job is to provide quality service, but we are humans FIRST and should be treated as such. The hours suck. They are not flexible even if something in your life changes.
