Pros

The clients and families are so great to work with. It’s truly rewarding.

Cons

Fee-for-service pay model is awful: if clients cancel, don’t show, are sick, etc., you don’t get paid for that session; you work all holidays and have to request big ones like Thanksgiving as vacation time There’s no PTO or vacation time, and the company’s health insurance is so expensive Any tasks BTs are required to do as part of their role is unpaid on your own time
