Pros
The actual work is very rewarding. The children and families that you'll work with almost make dealing with the company worth it. Flexible schedules are available and Beacon provides opportunities for advancement and education.
Cons
If you're an ABT or BT your pay will be inconsistent at best since these are fee for service positions. Supervisors vary depending on region but mine was unsupportive, at times rude, and nearly impossible to communicate with. People are given management positions based on clinical licensure and certification alone rather than actually having skills necessary to manage people. There is very little support even though working in homes can be physically and emotionally draining. There is no respect and no appreciation for those in ABT or BT positions. In these roles, you are replaceable and the company treats you as such. I would never recommend working for Beacon, unless maybe you're in a salaried position.
