Pros

I work within the Orange County office and they have an amazing team at this location. All the case managers and supervisors are excellent and super supportive! In this field, it can feel very isolated, and so it's comforting knowing your mangers are always there. There is also room for growth within the company, and many locations.

Cons

Cons are more based on how the company is ran as a whole. First, you get paid different rates depending on what you are doing. For example, drive time is minimum wage and office work is barely above minimum wage. At least the session are paid at a decent rate. Next, at full time you are offered benefits, but the packages they offer are not the best. Lastly, the criteria for full time is not consistent. You have to have 30+ hours for 4 weeks in a row, but you can loose full time status when you work less than 30 hours for 4 weeks within 6 months.

Pros

Wonderful coworkers Free snacks and coffee Flexible hours Paid initial training and drive time Good workplace relationships with upper management Company social events Great administrative and scheduling staff Ongoing specialized trainings and feedback on performance - + raises for good yearly reviews and promotions! Higher education opportunites at discounted rates Lovely families Seeing your kiddos improve immensely!

Cons

- Difficult to reach full-time status (getting adequate hours), and incredibly easy to lose once you get it, even if it's out of your control (e.g. cancelled sessions and no GA/fill-in sessions available) - If you don't like driving, commute can be difficult for some - High turnover rate of employees because of burnout or just lack of hours - Very policy driven (our branch seems to be given very little advance notice of policy changes) -- I understand it's for everyone's protection, it's just the potential for write-ups goes up if behavior staff are ill-informed of any sudden changes

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our clients! It is great to hear that your clients are improving immensely! With regard to full time status, we understand your concern, which is why our scheduling policy allows full-time instructors to work GA hours in order to keep full-time hours. The schedulers should be offering GA work to full time behavior instructors if there are cancellations. As for policy changes, we understand your concern. Since the field of ABA is dynamic and ever-changing, our company often experiences policy changes that are placed upon us by our funding sources, such as the health plans. However, we have taken note of your comment and we will expand our communication efforts with our behavior instructors with regard to policy changes when possible. With regard to burnout, we understand that this is an issue in our field, which is why we try to schedule instructors on several clients during the week so that they do not just work with only one client. We encourage you to bring any suggestions on how this could be addressed from your perspective to your managers. They would love to hear your ideas!

Pros

Training is fine but that's it

Cons

Management sucks, they treat staff bad. Never listen to what is being said. Worse place to work for.

With regard to our managers and directors, as a former employee, you would be happy to know that we recently conducted an upward management survey and the managers and directors in our Palmdale region earned a 95% approval rating from their team members in areas such as employees feeling like their “opinions matter” and feeling “valued and respected” by their supervisors. They also earned high marks in areas such as employees feeling “comfortable voicing…concerns” to supervisors and that their supervisors created a “positive work environment.” Here is one of the comments that was recently given from a Palmdale behavior instructor: My case manager “always has shown me respect and always has good rapport with the families. That's what I like about this company. They are professional and they care about their employees.” Here is another review from that survey: My case manager “is always telling me where I can grow and compliments me on my strengths. She and I, I feel like we work together really well as a team. That keeps me motivated, knowing we are accomplishing a lot for the clients together as a strong unified team.” We wish you peace and happiness in your new endeavors!
