Pros

- decent benefits ( unless you have kids) - good exposure to big companies - good experience

Cons

- if another company offers you a job and you take it, they will be petty and spiteful. I took an offer with Tesla and turned in my two weeks notice, they let me work those weeks then fired me in the last hour of the last day. - lots of continuous improvement planning with minimal meaningful action - they expect you to work longer hours than your contract says. - ZERO upward movement. A lot of people working here who started in the Stone Age, which is normally good but no one is retiring. So you have to wait for someone to die of old age to get promoted. - lots of "manager" roles but they don't report on anyone or manage any programs. Manager in name only. - due to mismanaged acquisitions, there are duplicate departments (I.e. Procurement department, supply chain department, transportation department) which basically do the same thing. - in an effort to not let anyone go, every department has multiple directors. I had two bosses that were in separate departments from me, total nightmare.

Pros

Working for Behr for a decade had its ups and downs. Behr used to focus on culture and individual growth while providing a great work-life balance. Salaries were once very competitive and it was well know throughout the paint industry.

Cons

Nepotism and a frat boy culture made it difficult to advance in the sales team. Behr's parent company Masco has become so metric driven and has lost the ability to just go and sell. Sales managers are more concerned with team members hitting cadence metrics and "pre call plans". On my exit interview the hr representative was very cold and not receptive to any of my feedback. It's a sad fall from when I was first employed with the company.

Pros

Cache' of working for a nationally recognized brand, depending on your role there are opportunities to work on interesting projects

Cons

Salaries are not competitive, typically 30% below average, yet organizational teams are very lean = more work for less pay. Sr. Team is 99% white males, out of touch with needs and interests of diverse workforce in the field and in corp office, history of perpetuating a toxic corporate culture rewarding underperforming individuals who are asked to be held accountable for quality and productivity. Good people eventually leave.
