Pros

The operations management team is fist class! They go above and beyond on innovation and creativity and really care for their employees.

Cons

Their HR department is incompetent and unprofessional. People with no skills and HR background contunue to get promoted with little regard to the negative impact on the organization. You get no support or leadership from the SVP because he is too busy sending emails about the bending machine discounts.

Thank you so much for your review. We always appreciate hearing from former employees regarding their experience at our company. We are honored to be recognized as a top work place in Orange County and that is because of our commitment to our people. We do agree that our operations management is “best in class” and we take pride in the fact that all of our team members care for one other. We consider feedback a gift and intend to take your comments to heart to grow and improve as an organization and will strive to continue to be a great place to work.

Pros

Opportunities for high level of creativity Exposure working with top-notch ad agency partners

Cons

Company's history is rooted in male-dominated, largely white men/women, top-down style of managing people. The handful of women at the table aren't there to make change but rather enable the status quo. Diversity is only seen at the bottom, the worker bees in R&D and Warehouse. Director, Sr Dir, and VP roles are again, largely white-dominated. The culture is toxic, often pitting team members against each other to achieve dept goals rather than working collaboratively.

Pros

Great peers to work with. Good benefits

Cons

Executive team are a good group of guys that you can grab a drink with but they are going to ruin the company. They always refer to the sales team as the “secret sauce” but they are constantly adding tasks to our plates that shouldn’t be an in store reps responsibility. We basically work for Home Depot, which has equally bad, if not worse, leadership. We are expected to be Home Depot supervisors because they are not capable of training their own people. Your commission is based on if the associates want to choose to sell your product and how much Home Depot wants to order. Be prepared to be a Home Depot paint associate most of your day. You’re expected to help every customer that walks into the department because they might be a JD Power shopper and Home Depot knows this so they’ll leave you to run the department by yourself. Home Depot was recently ranked as the worst in customer service among home improvement retailers. Don’t miss a shop unless you’re ready to be sawed down by your manager. They say it’s okay to miss a shop, yet it’s included in your review. If you like being pulled in multiple directions all day this is the job for you. You’ll be a sales associates, a merchandiser, an outside pro rep, a logistics coordinator, a trainer, and a call center rep all in one! The worst part is that there are people who actually get paid to do these roles but somehow it all gets put on you. Lots of marking tasks off a list so we can go to Home Depot and show them the value we bring while they turn around and promote the in store competitor more than ever. You’ll be expected to work 17 Saturday’s each year. Don’t expect to take a vacation if it interferes with a Saturday you’re supposed to work in the summer. My advice would be to look elsewhere.

Thank you for your review of the company and the position. We are glad to hear that you feel that you had a strong team of peers around you. We will take back your concerns to the sales team for review as we want all of our team members to feel that they are being set up for success in their roles.
