Pros

Great culture, lots of smart and passionate people, that famous employee discount. I absolutely loved working for Best Buy and I hope to again someday but some life events made me part ways. The company had some rough years when it refused to change with an evolving climate but after Hubert came on board as CEO and some different strategies were implemented I have all the faith that BBY has a strong future still.

Cons

Restructures are a necessary part of a business changing and adapting to the times but my own job has been on the chopping block many times which can be nerve racking and bad for morale. There isn't AS much incentive in recent years to get and retain good entry level talent. Making it in to management like I did is a prosperous job and very rewarding but there isn't as many leadership positions to go around as there used to be and the starting pay for entry level positions should be better to attract more driven and intelligent people that want to climb the ladder.

Pros

Exciting pace of change--always something new coming Hires some of the brightest, most engaged professionals in the nation Fantastic global business experience and best-in-class overseas teams Fun but challenging work Amazing corporate campus and amenities Healthy executive churn. You won't be "stuck" with anyone too long.

Cons

Multiple software platforms required every day; takes a long time to develop mastery The job titles don't always match the experience or maturity of the people that have them. Lay-offs and uncertain future for electronics.

Pros

Good people, competitive pay, ability to drill down into business results. Monthly and Quarterly bonus potential. Training opportunities. Rapid pace for change. Disengaged people will not linger. Employeee discount/ accomodations.

Cons

System challenges. Work life balance is a joke around the holidays. Long days, continue to do more with less in light of recent operational cuts. Victories rarely celebrated, amid constant pressure to drive metrics. Intense pressure to sell Geek Squad services, Protection plans, and open credit cards.
