Pros

Working there for almost 20 years, the BBB is still one of the most recognizable brands. You can sleep at night with what the organization represents.

Cons

Problem is: It isn't doing much to evolve the brand or revenue streams. Largely known as only the organization consumers go to complain, and often mistaken for a government agency that has power, which the BBB doesn't. The way (grading system) the BBB tries to rate all companies in the database wasn't effectively devised & managed, as there's just too many companies out there. Also, the org is not focused enough on truly/innovatively driving business to its Members & helping them grow, as it's the businesses that pay the BBBs' bills, not the consumers who file complaints.

Pros

The work hours are good, and you stay up on what's going on in the business scene in your local area. You do have the opportunity to help bring attention to good ethical businesses, and help consumers at the same time.

Cons

The BBB system can seem a bit dysfunctional. Making any changes for the better can be a bit like pulling teeth. Too many of the people seem content to become a dinosaur. The pay at a small bureau can be pretty miserable.
