A good Short Term gig

Pros

Pretty laid back work environment. You have to clock in and out but as long as you hit around 40 hours/week the schedule is a little flexible on your start and end times each day. They have some fun company activities and other morale boosting activities on a pretty regular basis. The people who work here are awesome!

Cons

Job can be mundane and boring. Editors are given very little responsibility besides dropping out background and uploading images to the website. The worst part is that they pay the photo team very little based on the skill set requirements and raises are so hard to come by. Its prob a good name to have on the resume but most people cannot afford to stay here very long before they find a better paying job.

Pros

Overstock gives you opportunity to move up within the company. Many new-hires are made from within. Good health benefits.

Cons

Sporadic bonuses and no sick time (vacation time must be used for sick days).

Pros

I used to love my job and could not think of a better place to work. I feel Patrick Byrne is an awesome CEO and appreciate how he tackles even the most controversial issues (inside and outside Overstock.com)

Cons

I have worked at Overstock.com for almost 4 years now. Every year I keep hoping for a cost of living pay increase at least. But, I don't get one and, I am not the only one. I was recently told in my yearly appraisal review, once you hit a certain pay amount in customer service, there will be no more pay increases, no matter how long you work here.
