Great work/life balance; decent benefits; relaxed, family-style culture

Cons

Not very forward-thinking; reactive instead of proactive. Spends money opening new stores, but lets existing stores become deteriorated. Can easily get stuck in old ways of thinking and doing things.

The management expects way to much out of new employees that were hired for the Christmas season, with the understanding that the employee had never cashiered before!

Flexible hours, good benefits, fun & up-beat coworkers, learned a lot about retail

Cons

The schedule for the next week was not posted until Thursday and only one week at a time, making it very difficult to plan activities/appointments outside of work. Computer system, cash registers, etc. are very old and outdated and this causes many issues but the company is too cheap to upgrade anything. The manager at this particular store was definitely a bully, literally everyone is afraid of her and there are many stories of her bullying employees until they chose to leave the company.
