Pros

Reflecting back on the 5 years I have been here... there have been many ups and a couple downs. As with any job. What has kept me going here is the caring co-workers we have. As the company has grown, and expanded internationally, I have seen the challenges of cross collaboration and team communication. What I have also seen is the extreme dedication and care of the managers and other leaders to work on always improving where they need to. Having been in this industry at "start-ups" for the last 11 years, I have seen a lot of companies go through "growing pains" which is often the term used as a copout for real solutions. What I have not seen until coming to BigCommerce, was a team and leadership team doing the real work and succeeding in coming up out of the low periods in a better place. SF Office Culture is AWESOME. We have great people, who aren't entitled or anti-social. People celebrate each others achievements and also help lift each other up when they are down. I am lucky that the execs I support are some of the kindest hearted people I have ever worked for. Bottom line, no place is perfect. What I value most about BigCommerce is the dedication to the happiness and health of the employees *at least in SF I can speak of.

Cons

I wish we could get the ENTIRE company together in person once a year. Now that we are so global it gets even harder to imagine that.

Pros

• The people at BigCommerce keep getting better and better. From the board, to the c suite, to directors and on down, the overall quality of the people at BigCommerce is better year over year (I've been with the company 3 years now). We truly have a wonderful culture here. • The company genuinely cares about the people and the customers we serve • The company's business prospects have never been more exciting! • The product we're building I firmly believe makes the world a better place (even if only a little bit). We're not curing cancer or solving global warming, but we are helping the world of commerce run better for both merchants and shoppers. • Benefits and pay package are competitive • Great office location in San Francisco (I like the Austin and Sydney offices as well)

Cons

We've got a complex product that does a lot of different things. It can take a while to get up to speed and it's hard to feel like you know about everything that's going on. We're not a 10,000 employee conglomerate, but we're not a 20 person start up either.

Pros

There are so many, but here are some of the ones that specifically drew me to BigCommerce: - The culture. The people here are so amazing to work with. Everyone is happy to be here and happy to help with any questions or concerns. It's really refreshing. - The benefits. There are a lot of benefits you get just by being an employee, and then the medical/dental/vision insurance is well priced and covers quite a bit. - The management. This could be classified under culture as well, but being able to meet your entire management team on your first day, instead of just being stuck in a room with a trainer is really nice. I appreciated the fact that they took the time to make sure that we got to know everyone from facilities and management within our training period.

Cons

-Shift scheduling is a little weird, and they are 24/7 which means there is a possibility that you'll have the overnight shift. But, they do ask you if you are available for it when you get hired, and they won't put you on it if you say no.
