Pros

I have worked at Billtrust for the past three years in Hamilton, NJ and couldn't speak higher about the culture and the people I work with. Everyone in the Professional Services department is passionate about their job and gives incredible effort to get the job done. There are no islands in the department and people expect questions, and collaboration to get clients live. The direct management team is very responsive to team members needs and is very willing to work with us on flexibility to work from home at times. There are no taboo subjects and open communication is not only welcome it is expected between team members their managers. Overall, I find Billtrust to be a great place to work, and will continue to recommend and refer people to join us. We are growing extremely rapidly which gives a lot of opportunity to grow in your career if you are hard working and willing to put in the time.

Cons

Billtrust is very fast paced. Like most growing companies a 40 hour work week is not enough time to perform your job at a high level. People looking at Billtrust must be a go-getter or you will quickly fall behind the rest of your teammates. Unfortunately, what comes with rapid growth is priorities change consistently. If you are not great with change and going with the flow this can be a difficult place to work.

Pros

Nothing to discuss at this time.

Cons

If you've worked for a company bought out by a private equity firm, I'm sure you can imagine the cons. Different rules, different leaderhsip, as little pay as you can possibly imagine.

Pros

Writing this review 5 months after I left. My appreciation for the company has grown since then. I left after a series of changes and was concerned about the direction of the company. Having experienced life at another company now for a while and talking to my friends at Billtrust who are thriving, I realize that I made a mistake and am going to go try and go back. My colleagues at Billtrust were the best. Super supportive and smart. The company focuses a lot on inclusion. I am a minority and was never made to feel that way at Billtrust. Not the same at other places.

Cons

Billtrust can be a machine. There isn't an overt demand for all of your time (even the time outside of work) but more of a subtle, slight encouragement to always be on. If you are not careful, you will live, sleep and eat Billtrust 24x7. Don't get me wrong, this is 100% a choice and if you are aware of this subtlety in the culture it is very easy to set appropriate boundaries that will be respected by the company and leadership team.
