Pros

The benefits are pretty good, the pay is at least average, and the new office looks really nice. People have respect for your personal life, and the PTO, depending on who your manager is, can be fairly generous

Cons

I am saying the following to help you make a decision here, it is not because I am angry. Keep in mind that things change, but consider the following: There are many people who do almost nothing for the company. They look good because others around them have to pick up the slack. The passive survive and are even praised for their mediocrity while the passionate are treated like they are a problem. Are they overly passionate? No, they just speak up in a non-aggressive manner and are not afraid to say that they think there is a problem. Upper management does not understand Agile and Scrum which causes a lot of frustration and confusion. Upper management tends to lie to convince you that you are a problem with the hope that you fall in line like sheep. There is a lot of focus on feature development, but hardly any focus on technical debt. Get features out the quickest way possible and ignore any consequences. No, problem there, right? There are loads of broken promises. It seems that we are given promises at times to stop us from talking about things with hopes that we would just forget about them. The "I'll get back to you in a month" trick gets old. There is a lot of us vs them.

Employee and America Last

Pros

The company offers a wonderful PTO Policy.

Cons

The company continues to go down the route of PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT. The CEO himself mentioned how we need to work HARDER and do everything in our power to turn this job into our second home. Our profits continue to go up, along with our daily job demands. The amount of pay does not follow the same structure - This year alone (2024), we've seen an average of a 2% salary increase all across the entire company. The only ones exempt from this are senior-level management +. They also changed our Yearly Bonus - It's now more difficult to obtain, and any NON-MANAGEMENT employee is capped at a 5% bonus, while Management + can get an increase in their bonus pay out. The people who clearly don't need the extra money are the ones who get the extra money. They also continue to discuss offshoring a majority of positions in the company - Software Engineers, low level management, Analysts, Product Support. Not only does this (and has) introduced massive security risks, but also takes away from American jobs. The company continues to strive at profit at all costs, in preparation to be sold in the next 5 years. They don't care that they'll be setting the buyer up for failure - As long as we look good now. This is NOT A CAREER. Your position will NOT be available in a couple years. There is absolutely no longevity for anyone in the company. Salary does not increase at a competitive rate. Benefits continue to be notched down slowly.

Terrible HR and Company Benefits

Pros

The people, although there are very few left that actually care about their job and the customers. All of the good ones have been pushed out or are looking to leave.

Cons

The product team is terrible. There is absolutely no accountability. The product team can’t answer questions on customer calls, speak to what they are releasing, or flat out don’t join meetings. The product is outdated and a dinosaur and is never improved. HR is equally as terrible. They do not care about employees and will block raises. Only approve 1-2% yearly merit increases but then raise the benefit premiums over 100%. You actually loose money working here. Terrible HR, low low pay, and a less than average product team make it hard to be successful at anything at this place. Th private equity firm that purchased us is in for a big surprise when they realize how terrible it actually is.
