Pros

Working at Biltmore has a lot of perks. The location, feeling like you are reliving an important part of history, and a company that really believes in customer service are great. The Cecil family is wonderfully kind. Once you decide to move on from Biltmore, their is instant recognition and appreciation that you were part of a quality organization.

Cons

Upper Management is cut throat and they seem out one up each which trickles down to the staff.

Pros

Depending on your department, it is a fun environment to do work. We are all business when it comes to our guests (being polite and courteous while providing top-notch hospitality), but we also can laugh and have time to decompress with our co-workers behind the scenes. I love the benefits of being able to preview exhibits, walk around the estate, comp tickets every quarter, employee dinners and celebrations. Most of the departments I have worked in, the people have been amazing to work with and I have looked forward to seeing daily. I also have a lot more work/life balance with this company than others I have worked with in the past. I have had events, etc. outside of work on several occasions and I have received a lot of support from my work peers.

Cons

Salaries are on par with Asheville, but Asheville's cost of living is a lot higher than what everyone is paying. All of Asheville needs a reboot in this area. This has been a drawback for a long time now for all people who actually live and work in Asheville. Sometimes things take too long to implement. We have surveys to see what can be improved for the company for employees almost every year. There are lots of great ideas and suggestions produced at that time. The implementation can take years at times due to copious amounts of meetings about the suggestions.

Pros

Access to the estate, free meals. Flexible scheduling

Cons

They barely give anyone full time status. Most employees are part time or seasonal. This is how they avoid giving health insurance.
