My immediate co-workers that did server assisting with me were basically children, emotionally. They were incredibly immature and bullied me. I talked to my managers about co-workers about this and most of them attributed these behaviors to me being the "only female, [as well as an attractive one]", in the serving assistance team. All of the managers, by the time of me ending my work at the Dining Room, all told me that they remembered my hiring/on boarding process clearly and were excited about me joining the team. By the end of the time when I was overloaded and couldn't handle the environment and lack of structure in the work environment, I was extremely stressed out. I am on the autism spectrum and wasn't diagnosed until later that year but no accomodations or additional supports were offered to me- solicited or otherwise, despite me speaking to multiple people about about the difficulty I was having with my immediate team. The person in charge of training me was a young man who will remain anonymous. I never received training from management or anyone who had some degree of maturity, propriety or flexibility. The young man was not helpful to me as he made rude comments as well as mumbled very quietly when he gave me instructions. I would follow him closely so I could shadow him but his face was usually faced down as he spoke to me and slightly backwards towards me as I followed him throughout the dining room trying to listen to his instruction. He spoke downward and when he made remarks towards me it felt very passive aggressive and sometimes childishly impertinent - certain comments were very unwelcome. I ended up having a very difficult time. I was working on my thesis in my senior year of college and was taking classes on certain days and many of the employees were very kind and supportive of me and my goals to finish my thesis and semester. The employees I worked with on every shift (the dining room assistants) were all young men who were honestly really not very kind to me. Another young man, a serving assistant as well, was with me in the water-pitcher room and I was taking a drink of my Nalgene and as I was drinking and he was standing across from me with his hands behind his back, he lifted his hand and pushed my water bottle up, spilling about half my water bottle all over my front and my face. The third young man, was also less than kind to me and I have few positive memories of him and he did little to make my transition as a new employee smooth or fun .
