Pros

I love working at Biltmore! Everyday you are immersed in an amazing piece of American History and beauty. You get to learn new things and meet people from all over the world.

Cons

Serving is a job that is inconsistent when it comes to wages and hours. I have been a server for over 10 years and it is physically demanding on your body. Not just at Biltmore but any service industry job.

Pros

The company provided decent pay, and incentives. Working outdoor weddings was one of the best gigs you could get as the pay went up exponentially. Beautiful property to work at every day.

Cons

Customers were often crabby and impatient, especially in the heat of summer. Walking through a giant, old house and waiting in lines will make some people’s true colors come out. Most negative experiences I had while working there were due to unreasonable customers.

Pros

They are excellent at pulling the wool over your eyes

Cons

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY Women are not supported in supervisor roles or in any position. They are subjected to rude customers and supervisors/management who do not empower them. HR claims to be there for you but we all know that when you call Biltmore on their hypocrisy, they utilize their at-will employer card REAL quick. You will be overworked and underpaid, let’s get that straight. As others have said, the frontline employees have worked through the pandemic to have stagnant (NOT A LIVING) wage. As a major employer in Asheville, it frustrates me that they advertise all the great benefits when it is not true. As with most F&B jobs, you will work hard for the executives to see the true payout. They do not care about you as an employee and will easily find someone else to do your job, even if that means the new employees are learning the job and being trained by someone who has never done it. This leads to the mindset that you have to just “figure it out” They currently can’t find employees to stay or want to apply because rumors are flying about the working conditions. People are fed up and there is strength in numbers. We must continue to speak the truth about the people that employ us. We want to just be able to live comfortably and be able to pay our bills!
