Pros

The people here are wonderful, truly nice people from the Executive Committee to the front line staff. The managers are understanding and very competent. What all the departments are doing is very progressive and really ahead of many other attractions. Leadership is honest and open and really care about the people that work here. It is great to be part of a meaningful mission as well - helping to preserve Biltmore is a wonderful objective for a for-profit company. The benefits are good too, and quite fair. People stay at this company for a long time, and with good reason.

Cons

It is a very bottom-heavy organization - not a lot of place to go. You could very easily stay here for years and years in the same position. In fact a lot of employees are doing that. Some of the benefits are bit odd - you don't get holidays for your first 120 days and you don't get paid vacation for a full year - and then it's only 10 days a year. The on the job training can be somewhat spotty and nearly everything about how much you'll like your job will vary based on what area you're working in.
