Not Too Shabby

Pros

Full-time employees get health care, PTO, and sick days (even as servers). The company seems to genuinely care about its employees, at least for being such a large corporation. For example, when COVID shut everything down they paid everyone for 2 more weeks, provided free meals, and helped you apply for unemployment. There are a lots of perks you wouldn’t get with other employers.

Cons

Too interested in antiquated modesty and conservatism. The uniforms are ridiculous and the clientele are entitled. Didn’t publicly (or privately to staff) support Black Lives Matter despite having a huge number of POC working for them.

Pros

Beautiful Place to Work and so fun seeing animals everyday

Cons

Pay is extremely low especially for an expensive city like Asheville. Company makes no apologies for their poverty level wages.
