Pros

We always get a great chuckle when we read the positive reviews that are posted on Glassdoor. The current employees are “motivated” to write them. On a more positive note, we have met some terrific people who will be lifelong colleagues.

Cons

Constant threats of being fired, crazy (literally) behavior by management, management drinking at lunch, an overall misogynistic environment, inadequate and out-dated technology recklessly being sold to clients, complete disregard for clients, changes in go-to-market strategy every 60-90 days, rewarding the Peter Principle…… You just can’t make this stuff up. If this once great company is in business in 3 years it would be shocking.

Stay far away, there are better tech companies in Charleston

Pros

-4 weeks of PTO -On site gym and cafeteria -Getting to support non-profit organizations and charities that are doing meaningful work. -Education reimbursement.

Cons

-Lower than average pay for the industry. -You may be hired for one job role (IT related) and then suddenly told you're getting demoted and will be taking customer service calls because of restructuring efforts (which at a glance of previous Glassdoor reviews, seems to happen every 6-12 months). -No transparency or communication at all from management. -Incredibly outdated and poorly coded software. -Management is out of touch and seem to consistently make poor business decisions. -Constant threat of layoffs.You'll be told that we need to do more to stay profitable and that margins are thin while simultaneously receiving communications from C-level management that we're breaking records with profit and stock value. There was an attempt to move many of the customer facing jobs to India/the Philippines, which failed miserably - but shows that they value profit over quality of service. -Honest feedback, even when constructive, is not valued and will be ignored. Worst case scenario, you'll have a meeting with managers that accuse you of being a rabble-rouser and threaten your job (when in reality, an employee that voices their concerns is an employee that cares about their company).

Pros

Most folks you work with are smart, passionate, kind and hardworking. It can also be rewarding to serve the "for good" market. Pretty flexible work schedule for most roles/teams with little micromanagement. Benefits and PTO are good at Blackbaud as well. Bonuses for many levels is nice, though given in stock not cash like they used to be.

Cons

There's little to no room to grow in your career as the company is shrinking. Layoffs every year, including hundreds of folks in winter 22-23. While core benefits remain pretty strong (healthcare, PTO, family leave), perks are pretty bad. No stipends for home offices for remote employees (and closed nearly all the offices), zero travel budget to gather as teams. No in person sales kick off or user events anymore. Diversity and inclusion is all window dressing unfortunately. The culture has really taken a hit in the last few years and people are rightfully frustrated and deflated.
