Pros

Many employees deeply care and are very committed to customers, alot were from nonprofit. The customers and market is amazing.

Cons

I quoted in title what senior sales leadership still at BB and former CEO Chardon said on multiple occasions. Strategy was not focused. Ignored flagship product. Let engineering drive too much product strategy, putting us behind. Aquired to stay competitive and didn't do enough to streamline portfolio. Not enough women in senior leadership, women often delegated to administrative or Maintenance of line for products, Vision attributed to male counterparts.

Pros

There are some really brilliant people here and this is a great company if you want to keep your head down and just coast.

Cons

Management has no idea what's going on on the ground and are completely oblivious as to what needs to be done. The pay is pretty low for the market, and the work/life balance has gone from great to terrible. With the constant lay-offs and management's ability to never get anything done the Professional Services department here is sinking fast. It's best to abandon ship and get out now.

Pros

Company supports non profits which feels good to be a part of. Many good people here that are fun to work with.

Cons

With multiple acquisitions the culture has changed. Feeling like management wants the professional services team to be more like a Big 6 consulting firm than a product company with value add services. Part of the challenge is that the Blackbaud CRM product requires so much in services that services are a large portion of company revenue. That being the case....there is pressure to push margins up on services so they don't drag the company margins down. If you look at most software companies the services are a much smaller portion of revenue and product companies will take lower services margins to focus on product sales, partner enablement and customer success. But Blackbaud can't afford to do that with the product / services mix. This results in a push to make the professional services team feel a lot more like a large system integrator with higher margins and that was not the culture many signed up for in years past. Higher utilization targets, some would say unrealistic, are causing morale challenges.
