Pros

Free food sometimes if you’re allowed to leave your desk to go get some

Cons

Terrible job with terrible pay. Get treated like a child yet expected to navigate a incredibly complex software with no training. Honestly the company has more products than they can handle. The software is incredibly flawed and clients get mad a customer support about it. If you enjoy working with mad people, having rigid hours, low pay and no idea what you’re doing every day, then come on over to Blackbaud customer support.

Pros

They have good PTO, Insurance is OK, cool office in Austin, some kind co-workers, volunteer for time off, working for a cause. It looks good on your resume if you are in the non-profit field.

Cons

Management was constantly changing things. One day your title was one thing and a year later it would change. I had three managers within a 5 month time frame. They consistently lay off people every year. It's the type of environment where you never know when it's going to be your turn. I saw them let go of great talent. They will even lie to your face when you ask them if you are next. There once was rumors that layoffs were coming and it eventually made it up to the director. He then held a meeting and told everyone that it was not true and to not worry about your job because there was plenty of work to do. One to two months later they did a "re-organization" and laid a bunch of people off. So much for trusting upper management. Upper management can be demeaning and manage upwards to excel their careers. I guess that's what they have to do in order to not get laid off. Clients leave to go to competitors that are not about nickle and diming them. The software is crazy expensive, clients can get something better elsewhere for more affordable price. Raises are 1% - 1.5 % per year, way below average for a major corporation. Not the best place for you to excel your career. It's more so of a stepping stone that will help open other opportunities.

Pros

Benefits are good People are good Headquarters is nice

Cons

Other reviews for this position are not lying when they say beware. I believe this role used to be an opportunity to get in on the ground level of a solid company. However, over the past year and a half the role has changed quite significantly with increased goals/quotas, ultra micro management, and zero transparency. In January 2020 our goals increased by 30% across the board. This effectively gave a pay cut to what was already one of the lower paying salaried positions in the company. During the interview process this was pitched as a great opportunity to get into the company if you put in your time doing the dirty work as a BDR for a year (new hires are now 18 months). However, after covid hit they have eliminated almost all upward mobility for everyone in the department and have kept giving the runaround to everyone until the majority of the team has now left the company. I can not state this enough for those looking to get into sales, THIS IS NOT ENTRY LEVEL SALES. You will not learn anything about sales or the sales process other than cold calling. If you are money motivated, there are plenty of entry level sales positions out there that offer way more opportunity for the effort you will put in at this position. There will be a lot asked of you, but do not expect anything in return. I know people that are in other departments/roles within the company that are very happy with where they are, but this position and department in particular is running it's employees into the ground.
