Pros

Great people Good pay Room for growth Transparency Great facilities I look forward to going to work everyday at Blackbaud. In Charleston there is not a better place to be as a recent graduate

Cons

Honestly I can not find a real "con" of working for Blackbaud. I wish they would subsidize the lunchroom cost and it is not really all that bad.

Pros

Great business model -- monopolize most aspects of the nonprofit technology and consulting market. Job security is therefore extremely high. Also, great opportunity to work with many interesting nonprofit organizations.

Cons

Much to much corporate style -- in management structure, in process overload, in communication. Sales sets this tone, and consultants spend much of their energy undoing the poor communication and unrealistic expectations that come as a result.

Pros

Blackbaud is a nice mid-sized tech company in the beautiful city of Charleston SC. They use the positive attributes of Charleston for recruiting purposes. And while I agree with their stance, Charleston is not a metropolitan city by any means and won't appeal to techies from SF, SEA, or TX. A lot of emphasis on adopting Blackbaud culture and it goes a long way to be a team player.

Cons

Lacking true technology innovation. Revenue goals still rely on annual maintenance and software functionality upgrades. Flagship products use antiquated tools (e.g. VB 6) The culture does breed some indoctrination, and a lot of new hires become frustrated with the lack of innovation.
