Pros

4 weeks of vacation! Generally 40 hour weeks. Some people can work remote. Free coffee. It's a job.

Cons

Resistant to change, terrible product, corporate work environment where people walk around like zombies, don't help each other, do only their jobs. It's mind numbing. Nobody cares about the product. My suggestions were mostly ignored, but at least one showed up on the product road map (meaning the manager passed it on without giving me credit).

Pros

Blackbaud has great people working together throughout the US. In addition to the fact that going to work was fun, it was rewarding to know that I had a hand in assisting thousands of non-profits achieve their missions. I was playing an active part in making the world a better place.

Cons

The biggest drawback for me was the inconsistency of the experience that one can have based on who their manager is. Some managers allowed for flexible work schedules, remote privileges, and were OK with children being present during working hours (when working remotely) Other managers could/would fire employees for trying to attain the same degree of flexibility-- even across the same job title.

Appreciate your people

Pros

Work/life balance can be good. Days off are nice. There are some really nice and sincere people that work there, and if those are your top priorities in your career, this is a great place to work.

Cons

Career progression is minimal, and you have to play "games" to fit in with management. Pay is way lower than others in the area. Management operates on egos instead of logic and they are allowed to insult their direct reports. Many tenured employees are only there for the pros listed, knowing it's nearly impossible to be fired. Anyone wanting to make more of themselves are gone or looking. Products are a mess that no one in the company fully understands, but they keep adding more.
