One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my career was taking a job at Blackhawk

Pros

The company is situated in a convenient location.

Cons

The turnover there is incredible particularly in the IT/engineering groups and Accounting. The number of people leaving the company without a job is astonishing. For 95% of the people there, the workload is HUGE, compensation is a joke and the working conditions are horrendous (they've implemented bench seating...it's like working on a fully occupied picnic table).

Location. Some teams are very dynamic, creative, and value partnering to move work forward.

Cons

Politics Constantly shifting roles and responsibilities, you never know exactly what you are accountable for. Leadership cares more about the 'land grab' rather than actually leading. Input/Opinions are not welcomed or valued. Image is more important than doing good work. Cutthroat environment, watch your back. Favoritism and disrespectful behavior is rampant.

Pros

Near BART, beats commuting to SF/SJ if you live in the area. Some departments like marketing and HR seem more tolerable than anything business or tech related.

Cons

Disorganized. Management is always backstabbing each other and other teams. Dirty working conditions with aggravating open seating. The harder you work, the more they dump on you until you can't get anything done.
