Meeting leftovers everywhere, office smells food and garbage all the time.

Cons

Heavy politics deeply rooted in every department to the extend that people would not get work done to avoid politics. For people aiming for growth, development and result, please feel free to look outside Blackhawk. Finance team play heavy politics not real work to the extend that people are afraid of speaking up on work related discussions. People who are not involved in real work hence plays safe politics to get rewarded/promoted. Same issue on the sales team. Every task is loaded with politics not company's value.

Great business model, company holds a strong presence in the gift card market.

Cons

Promotions seems to happen to those who like to play the "political" game. It is not necessary based on experience or any of your accomplishments. All talk will get you more places instead. If you don't play their game then you are on the sidelines. Silos are everywhere, as most groups only care about themselves. Pay is not comparable to most companies in the area. If you come in low, expect to stay there as you will not be adjusted even though someone off the street comes in paid more. Raises are almost nonexistent not even enough to adjust for the cost of living. Benifits are ok, basic and nothing extra. Workload = overload, depending on the team. Work/Life balance = depends on the team. They rarely promote within, not because an individual is not qualified, but because your current boss won't let you go. HR has reputation to be for the company, not for the employee and a bit untrustworthy.
